Happy LNY

I hope the Giants win again! Not because I particularly care for them, but because I hate the Patriots with persistence. (Not even persistent passion the way I hate Duke - I often forget to hate them until someone reminds me they exist, but once I am reminded, grr those Patriots.)

Nishikori upset over Tsonga! I haven't managed yet to watch any of the Australian Open what with the time difference and my lack of cable TV, but I'm keeping up to date with scores and hoping to catch some matches once we get out of the rounds into the quarter/semi/finals. The women's side is a mess of surprises as usual, whereas the men's has kept fairly predictable. I think Nole, Rafa, and Feds have all swept through their rounds without dropping a set. No, wait, Nole dropped one to Hewitt in this last match. Oh god, the draw - if Rafa beats Berdych and Federer beats Del Potro tomorrow, they meet up in the semis and the winner is likely to face Nole. Nail-biting, always. Vamos Rafa, always.

In other sports news, Liverpool makes me cringe with despair, as ever, but you'll never walk alone, etc. etc. Team of my heart, stop making me bleed misery, please? Though this season is a marked improvement on last season, thank you!

UNC is holding fairly steady and I'm pretty happy there, aside from the FSU loss (let's not talk about it). Keep calm and carry on, Carolina! I visited campus on Saturday to see G, on exchange from NUS to UNC exactly a year after my exchange to NUS. She brought me kaya jam! Delight in my mouth - I had kaya toast for breakfast this morning and it's not the same as Ya Kun, of course, but it's the closest I'll get to Singapore in a long time. I can't believe it's been nearly four years since I graduated from UNC; it still looks the same in so many ways. It is the same in many ways. It's strange to see memory and reality overlapping, I guess.

Nothing more this time around: Happy Lunar New Year! It's the year of the dragon, which means...that I turn a quarter of a century old this year. Frightening prospect! Possibly the world will end also, which is always an option I'm up for. (Or perhaps only the internet will end, and that is close enough to the end of the world to be depressing.)

september heralds books, scones, and tv shows

I was sick but now I am mostly better! I still have to face the hard facts though: I am a terrible blogger. These days, I'm too easily distracted by everything. (Perhaps it is early onset Alzheimer's here, because mentally I'm 60 and preparing for my predicted death next year.) (What a terrible joke. Pterry, I'm sorry.)

Speaking of good Sir Pterry, a new Discworld book is due out this October! And it's a mystery-based Vimes book! I am particularly thrilled since I've been rereading Discworld and mysteries lately (Christie & Conan Doyle).

Other things I've done lately is bake! Orange-zested scones and banana nut bread on my own, and contributed to out-of-season zong zi and in-season moon cakes. There are pictures, but I am lazy.

Along with reading and baking, the watching of TV shows: I watched all of this summer's Top Chef Masters but have not yet gotten to Top Chef Desserts. I started watching the Korean variety show Running Man, which is hysterically funny. Strange, but addicting. Wiki gives a brief synopsis of it, but it sounds much weirder and more boring than the actual show is. Of course I started watching it after hearing the hype and because there were idols I was interested in guesting in a few episodes; from there on, though, you really start appreciating the main cast, too. So much!

It's a bit unsettling that it's the first September since, uh, I was five or six that I haven't been in school. Hearing about other people starting classes and returning to the uni schedule is really strange when I continue to sit at home. I wish I could say it felt freeing, but without a job, mostly it feels unanchored and terrifying. I am good with routine, don't you know? I like schedules and lists and things to do. I hate this uncertainty that is my future. I hate that it's another reminder that my RL is here and so far I am sucking at it. I have such big dreams of when I have a job and will be able to live in an apartment again - the cooking and cleaning and decorating I'd do!

...alas, reality intrudes. I'll try not to dwell on it too long though, and just focus on the job hunt. With some time in between for reading and baking and watching shows, of course.

the logic that lies therein

Beach was mostly fun - a little stressful, but trips that require balancing of time/interests/personalities of different people who are not so much mutual friends but mutual acquaintances through one friend tend to be, but overall good. Sunny, sunny, sunny, hot and busy. People everywhere being bad drivers and dudebros on the beach (latter was great beyond measure; the former, not so much). Seafood for lunch and dinner was delicious! Sparklers in the parking lot was classy but celebratory.

Fun times! Tomorrow is for resting in and being anguished while watching tennis, then following it with soothing videos of hilarious things, like Eddie Izzard skits and various things on YT and potentially some quality time with T-Hard and Cpine. G's visit has been great so far with a particular emphasis on cpop/jpop/90s boy band nostalgia and lol oh god our love for Jay Chou. ♥

things I should not do in class:

Read damnyouautocorrect.com.

If I start laughing, it might be just a little obvious I'm no longer paying attention to the discussion of real world implications of fraud in virtual worlds. Maybe.

life on the wild side

Following class and dinner with G (who is tiny - I actually felt, for once in my life, like the awkward, taller one!), some of the exchange guys wanted to hang out. "Casual," said F. "No clubbing. We'll just sit somewhere on campus and drink."

"Sure," I said, because I have an old soul and clubbing is not for me, generally. Post-agreement, I began to wonder whether NUS was a dry campus. I knew we weren't allowed alcohol inside the dorms, but I wasn't sure about on campus in general.

Yet around 10:30PM, I trekked out to the bus stop to await the few and far inbetween buses that might take me down to F's residence hall. I had examined the campus map and knew there was a stop directly in front of his building. I was prepared.

Or so I thought. Sadly, the various campus maps posted around, while indicating the location of bus stops, does not actually indicate the route the bus takes. I guessed wrong. I got off early. I was in a deserted parking lot lit by a stray street light and the lights of the looming building behind me - School of Computing, it said. "Fuck," I said. "I don't even know where the hell I am." (Which was a lie - clearly I was at the School of Computing.)

And so I crossed the barren parking lot towards the street in the belief that if you just follow a street long enough, it will take you somewhere useful. And so it did: it brought me to a map, which indicated that I should continue down the hill in order to find the dorm where I was originally supposed to end up.

Finally, after that minor adventure, I met up with F and B and their case of beer from the 7/11 just outside of campus. "Let us drink," said they, and found us a corner of a different deserted parking lot to sit in while drinking our German beer. We were willing to take the risks of drinking on campus, oh yes, but not to push so far as to find a building in which to drink because buildings, they have security.

A eventually joined up with us and we all migrated to the bus stop in front of F's dorm to sit and drink and talk. It was about half an hour into this when A suddenly exclaimed, under his breath, "Cops, cops!" and frantically shoved his beer can behind him, out of sight. We rearranged in muted panic and sat in silence as the cop car pulled by slowly, on patrol. Two feet past us, it stopped. We held our breaths. It backed up. We stared at it. It turned down a different street.

"Holy shit," said A, "I thought we were about to get arrested and then caned."

"Nah," said F, laughing in relief. "We'd give Mei over to pay the price."

"Excuse me," said I, "I'll have you know only men get caned in Singapore." And so it's true, as backed by the fount of knowledge that is Wikipedia.

Though the consequences would undoubtedly not even come close to caning, it's something to joke about, I suppose. It's hard to imagine that they'd do much to one or two errant students, especially if we're international exchange and can claim ignorance as defense for almost everything, whether it's drinking shitty beer in shady parking lots or sneaking a non-resident into a resident-hall dining hall. Did you know they required you to sign in your name, room #, and ID before serving you your free dining hall food? I found out when I got in line and lied on that paper, followed closely by F.

Singapore makes rebels out of all of us.

Well-fed rebels, at least. After our close call, we walked out of campus to a nearby 24-hour eatery, where I got a mini-Beijing breakfast of 油条豆浆 (hot soy milk + fried dough stick). God it was good. Then A and I proceeded to walk off our food by walking halfway across campus back to PGP, as buses quit running at 11.

It's 2AM and I have not yet been arrested - for drinking, or stealing residents-only food, or soliciting anyone through windows. It's a good night. And it's time for bed.

celebres con el equipo de fútbol español~

Ahh football! There is so much I want to talk about but I guess I shouldn't constantly spam, right? But the Italy v. New Zealand game yesterday! The Brazil v. Côte D'Ivoire game! The fact that Kaká was red-carded - unbelievable. And while part of me enjoyed that (the part that likes drama, especially with teams that are not mine), I have to say: he elbowed the CIV guy in the chest, and the CIV player went down clutching his face. Ehhh. But I'll take it as trade-off for the second goal which was an unbelievably blatant double handball, fuck that shit. What was up with that ref?

Anyway, I was watching the Brazil game in a café with wireless but broken A/C. So the HDTV was nice and a ton of people had their laptops out, which amused me, but it was so disgustingly sweaty and hot. I watched Spain's game today in a pub with A/C, which was infinitely better. I had a work meeting at 11 that I carefully scheduled around the Spain game, haha. I have priorities, can't you tell?

I was so nervous about the Spain v. Honduras game because I always get anxious about my favorites; they managed to pull off the win they needed, which makes me happy! But they really should have scored more (Villa should have definitely not missed that penalty kick, for instance - and he'd have gotten a hat trick too, oh Dahveed). The goal differential is going to be important come the round 3 games; Spain you'll need to defeat Chile and with a good number of goals just to be on the safe side. Switzerland and Honduras - couldn't you tie at 0-0? That would be super, thanks.

In other sports news, Federer almost lost today to an unranked player, dropping the first two sets and winning the fourth set by the skin of his teeth. I'm not going to lie, I laughed. He will never be my favorite, sorry. Roddick did fine, of course, and Nole...had to go to five sets but also pulled off a win. Man. "Latest Wimbledon match of all time", they say: it ended at 11:41pm. I guess Wimbledon likes to end early... Anyway, as always, my heart is for Rafa. :) ¡Vamos Rafa!

And ¡viva España! Happy day~

In non-sports news, I saw Toy Story 3 Friday night and I definitely recommend it. I did not go in expecting to like it considering I was tired of the Toy Story franchise after the first movie, but Pixar managed to not disappoint. They surprised me, in a good way. :) The movie is really touching and sad at bits, but also really, really funny. There is a lot of action/drama that is melodramatic but the movie never takes itself seriously, so it's all in fun. We watched it in a full theater with families and kids, so there was a lot of group laughter and applause, which added to the experience, I think. I'd go see it again, frankly speaking.

The short at the beginning was also incredibly charming and possibly one of my favorites. I do think they got a little heavy-handed with the message (via the radio) when they could've been more subtle...but I guess subtle goes over a lot of people's heads... Anyway! Yes. The entire movie is recommended.

Other movies I am excited about: Despicable Me, Eclipse (I have no shame; I will totally watch and mock), and Tangled! The preview for that was really cute. Disney's take on Rapunzel, with a twist? I am intrigued. Can't think of anything else atm except, oh yes, PLEASE DO NOT PAY MONEY TO WATCH THE LAST AIRBENDER. If you have to ask why...

This is why.

Last round of games for group stages kick off tomorrow! Estoy muy emocionado.

anyone but dook

Fuck the Dookies are going to be endlessly obnoxious and aggravating tomorrow. More so than usual, I mean.

Oh Butler, so damned close it hurts.

ETA: It serves me right for posting while tired and angry. The word I was looking for was "insufferable".

Dookies in a word.

a room with a view (OF HELL) -eddie izzard

I guess this is a product of my being INFJ - the "I" in the particular - but I've never had a problem with eating meals on my own? I don't find it lonely or sad; it's actually nice, sometimes, because I recharge in my own time. I need the break from other people. That's not to say I don't like being social or don't want company or people to talk to sometimes; it doesn't mean I wouldn't choose to eat with others over eating by myself (though just as often I choose eating by myself over eating with others). I like people, really. Sometimes, when I'm down, having someone to hang out with or talk to distracts me and manages to help me feel a lot better. But, in the end, I need time to myself to be in a good mental and emotional place. Spending an extended period of time with a large group of people doesn't energize me but rather exhausts me. I prefer one-on-one or small groups.

This post brought to you by random observations.

Oh, one day I do want to make a post about how our circle of friends reflect who we are in that our friends reflect the kind of people we like to spend time with. But then there are also multiple circles of friends who reflect different things about us because we only "choose" our friends to a certain extent. And despite commonalities, sometimes you discover you are very different regarding certain things (some of which turn out to be more important than others)...

But that's for another day. I'm going to bed early tonight.

don't let my champagne spill on you

Happy 2010! I've been remiss in posting since break started but I guess I haven't had much to say.

Made an appointment for my eye exam! :D I won't have to go blind without contacts come the end of January, hurray! I have also made a list of the internships I want to apply to and their deadlines - the earliest is at the end of February so, uh, I have some time to draft a letter of interest. Not much to do about my résumé - I updated it before finals and not much has changed, lol. It's not like it'll suddenly reflect any publishing experience, anyway, just law stuff.

Also did some emailing about APALSA stuff and setting up our spring semester's budget meeting, so there was some productivity... I've narrowed down my study abroad choices to Singapore and Korea and I bought textbooks yesterday... My life is not terribly exciting, but when is it ever? Christmas was low-key but all right; New Year's was more lively and a lot of fun. Sherlock Holmes was fantastic.

I guess tomorrow I should start going over and editing/expanding my Note, sigh. I really don't want to. Everything inside me protests. Maybe I'll read a book or some manga instead. :|

/puts on some David Tao :D

still waiting out this lifetime

My mom called today. Apparently we're having C and A's families over for Thanksgiving dinner... I'm not that close with either of them. It's a little strange. At least I'll see A and J on Wendesday, hopefully. I don't know if I'll get a chance to see the Huangs.

Other than Wednesday, though, my break needs to be dedicated to doing a lot of work. I'm going to have to figure out how to pack for this, considering that I don't want to bring a lot back.

Star Trek came out Tuesday on DVD, so J and I went over to D's after dinner to watch it. His roommates were occupying the TV watching college basketball, so we just hung around the kitchen table, talking and such.

We didn't get to watching Star Trek until about 11 or 11:30, but I entertained myself until then with the model of the Enterprise that came with the DVD. I totally zoomed that thing around in "warp speed". I possibly was at the mentality of a six-year-old last night. Finally getting to rewatch Star Trek was great though, because Chris Pine is delicious and I love Zachary Quinto. It's fun to rewatch things, because I saw everything in a slightly different light, knowing more about Star Trek in general than I did upon the first viewing of the movie. Little details! Knowing how things turn out! Tributes to the original series! Mmm, Captain Fine.

I think too much forced Nano writing earlier this month has turned me off writing for a while. I need a break. It could also be due to the rain and the pressure of looming finals. I wish I could get my act together regarding mail and printing things out. I also have to remember to buy Christmas cards (and collect addresses), and get on buying my brother's Christmas present.

I don't feel as organized as I'd like to be (or feel like I should be). I need more to do lists and better adherance to them and the ability to cross things off and feel accomplished.

Ugh, UNC lost to Syracuse tonight.

even if I'm born again, it's still only you

100 Some Things I Should Have Done Instead of Going to Law School

01. Gone skydiving.
-Without a parachute.
-It’s, I think, a fairly accurate analogy of going to law school.

03. Re-enacted the Bourne Trilogy.
-Any excuse for more Matt Damon in my life.
-And you know you’ve always wanted to jump from rooftop-to-rooftop in Tunisia while questioning your identity, self-worth, and future.
-This is also not a bad analogy to law school.

09. Gone around town correcting signs for inappropriate apostrophe usage’s and other speling and grammer mistake.
-People who make typoes should got to hell!

24. Hailed every van cab in New York City in hopes of getting the Cash Cab.
-Carry lots of money in the meantime because cabs in New York…not so cheap.

27. Won the lottery.

48. Gone to King’s Cross Station and ran at a wall. You know which wall.

49. Learned to understand America’s favorite pastime.
-That is, baseball. Which is different from South Korea's favorite pastime, which is apparently protesting.
-On a slightly off-topic note, I’ve always thought pastime should be spelled with two “t”s.

50. Found Waldo.

61. Gone to culinary school.

78. Ran around spoiling things for people.
-Soylent Green is people. The boat sinks. It was Earth all along. It was his sled. The slipper fits. He’s Luke’s father. They die in the end. Snape kills Dumbledore. Jesus dies. Sort of.

98. Read her poker face.

I've finally finished this list! Now to do something with it...

니가 좋은 이유 (Why I like you)

Even though break's ending, I'm an a good mood. Gotta take what joys you can, when you can.

I bought a camera too! So that is exciting and will be the one bright spot of next week. At least I have a new soundtrack to my life as I return to slave away at law school.

Speaking of music, I drove around a lot this break, and listened to the radio, which I never do (but I didn't have any of my music here). I finally sort of know what's popular, if the frequency of plays of certain songs are any indication. Frankly, I'm tired of Pink's Sober and Kelly Clarkson's My Life Would Suck Without You now. I'll stick with my kpop, thanks. Though I do enjoy Britney's Circus~ Now this is the kind of dance music they should've played at the club. STL disappoints. Let's go out again, and party right.

I had deep thoughts on music tastes and possibly a rant on overbearing, contemptuous people who think their tastes > yours, but...it's overdone. No need for repetition.

resolving to just like it as it is

Give it a week and I'll be over this. Distance puts things in perspective, and I regain enough sanity to realize I blow things out of proportion. Way to melodramatize your life, Mei.

Cute. Life is cute. Let's just go from here, crack down, get work done, and let things go as they will. I'll do as T says and enjoy the feelings as they come, and not dwell too much or do anything stupid (as per C's advice). Life is beautiful. Make these memories, live them.

(Wow, kind of a whore, huh?

I'm joking. Mostly.)

New SJ album coming out on the 12th! Teaser sounds ridiculously awful, but I'm looking forward to it anyway. Lots of work to be done this week...

(I don't know why I'm even thinking about trust when there's nothing to even be skeptical about.)

All right. I'm going shopping this week, and meeting up with people for coffee, because that's the cool and adult thing to do.

there should've been a picture, but i was lazy

I think I've forgotten how to blog. Then again, did I ever really know how? How do you make a blog post interesting? Use pictures! People of my generation have short attention spans, due to TV and the internet; we are all about instant gratification. Perhaps I should also tell jokes, rapidfire. Sadly, I am not so clever.

But I'm happy because I finished my brief! It's not the best thing ever and probably not even my best work, but it does have a lot of effort put into it, and I'm happy that I finished before the early hours of the morning. I'm frankly tired of staring at it and at my laptop. I swear my eyesight gets exponentially worse during the weekends before I have big LP assignments due.

I will endeavor to make more blog posts while happy and positive. One thing in particular that's pleased me this weekend is watching Eddie Izzard on Youtube. He is a gloriously funny British comedian (who crossdresses). I love his accent and his sound effects and facial expressions; he can have me laughing so hard I can't breathe, but it's worth it. He also had a cameo role in Ocean's 11 (or was that 12...13...? I forget). It reminds me that I want to watch that movie again, because it is beautifully delicious. I like hot men in nice suits pulling cons/heists. What can I say? I'm shallow and female. Give me a break.

I always feel like rewarding myself after finishing up a big LP assignment, and I think this week I will bake cupcakes with Tina (aww, we might be roommates next year! This is exciting to me! I hope we find a nice place to live) and either going to a bookstore or to the mall. I've felt a need to acquire more pink clothes. I need to become the ultimate stereotypical girl, or something. Or just pnk looks good on me. Whatever. Too bad there are so few pastel pink things out there, at least ones that are cute. Hot pink and fuschia seem to be in fashion, and they're just...not quite as flattering.

I think I just lost interest in this post. I guess I'm done for now.

my world revolves around food

This is one of those days where I am going to eat six or seven times a day and still be hungry.

I'm not sure if my appetite has increased because of law school (spending seven consecutive hours staring at your casebooks is actually incredibly energy-draining), or perhaps over break (when I had the luxury of my parents feeding me all the time). Either way, I've come back to St. Louis hungry all the time, for everything except Mexican. See, don't get me wrong: I have nothing against Mexican food. I don't hate it or even dislike it. I'll eat it. I will just never really enjoy it, I don't think. It's all those beans and cheese and rice cooked wrong. I'm also just not a fan of flour tortillas. (But a naked burrito from Qdoba generally makes me happy, and oh the salsas are so good.)

But I don't have anything against cheese either: I just spent a good ten minutes googling pictures and recipes of soufflé. Interestingly, the sweet ones just don't interest me as much (I was never a big dessert person, I admit it) as the ones with cheese. Or meat. I do so like my meat. Cheese and spinach just makes me blissful. Now I'm craving a breakfast soufflé, and it's four in the afternoon. This would be a good time to go home and help my roommates cook, wouldn't it? Or it would just make me hungrier. Maybe it's a good time for a snack, and then help cooking...

On the topic of things that are spinach-and-cheese and also delicious, soft pretzels. Barnes & Noble sell them, I think, with feta cheese and spinach, and probably typing up an entire blog post about food is not helping my case of hunger pangs.

Is there a more boring subject I could waste time talking about? Or at least one less food-related...

So reading endless cases in law school can be tedious and very long-winded, but I'm always amused when I find opinions by courts who clearly have a sense of humor (or have just had to put up with way too much stupidity from people at large). There was that opinion J found last semester where the entire thing was written in poetry a la The Night Before Christmas. Then the opinion about Barbie and Aqua's trademark infringment with its song. And today the opinion we read for LP about incompetent lawyers who failed to cite properly in their appellate briefs and wrote in crayon. (I still can't gauge whether or not that was serious; I sincerely hope not, because just. What. I can't even comprehend what would possess a practicing attorney to do that.)

...well, I'm still hungry.

(a material girl) living in a material world

So I've recently realized that I'm one of Those Girls Female Main Characters Hate. You know how female main characters, heroines, are usually Different? How they're typically not popular (though not always a total outcast), and have all these atypical or underappreciated traits that make them just unique enough or different enough from the crowd to be special? So special that few people recognize just how special they are, until the Right Friend or Right Romantic Interest comes along?

These heroines: they're typically headstrong, or like sports, or just don't get femininity, or have suffered some sort of great loss, or just have some perspective on life that sets them apart. Maybe they love the planet; maybe they're horribly jaded; maybe they're just incredibly smart or thoughtful or profound in ways that makes the rest of the world seem shallow and superficial.

These girls are compared to the minor female characters, one type who's girly, superficial, somewhat frivolous. These characters are not necessarily stupid or bad people: they're just less deep, more shallow, usually caring and good-hearted, just not different enough from the rest of the world to be a main character type. These minor characters are girly girls who like pink and dressing up and make-up; they're the characters who care about fashion and fix up the main character; they're the characters who can walk in heels while the main character can only look on enviously. They're the characters who are somewhat flaky, who don't have a passionate world cause (crusading for human rights or the environment, for instance), who like sappy romantic comedies, not cult films or off-the-beat comedy or bloodbath action.

These are girls who are smart but not going anywhere with it. These are girls who just don't stand out. These are girls who are like so many other girls in the world.

And it's weird to realize that I'm one of these girls.

I think every girl always imagines she's the star of her life; if someone wrote a story, she'd be the main character: the special one, the different one, the one who matters and is somehow different from everyone else.

Sometimes, it's really just not that way. It's true that we're all different from everyone else, that we all have admirable qualities. Being mainstream and conformist and "just like everyone else" doesn't negate the sincerity of your emotions or lessen the importance of your beliefs. It just means...well, it means you're not a main character. You're not that special. You're pretty ordinary, pretty average.

That...I tell myself that doesn't have to be a bad thing. It's not. You are better able to relate to others when you have similar experiences. But it's still unsettling, uncomfortable, to come to terms with.

You're not that smart. You're not driven. You're not that profound. You're not that anything.

You love and you care and you worry and you try, just like everyone else. But you're a little ditzy, not as up-to-date on politics as you might like; you're a little shallow, because you like heels and skirts and the color pink; you're a little girly, because you cry at Disney movies and want to have someone to hold you and love you and grow old with you. You're not that independent, or that amazing, or that unique.

But, you think, you're still pretty special - because of all the people who know you and love, despite you not being that Unique and Different Heroine; and because of all the people you know and love in return.

No one is forgettable or replaceable, because of the relationships they've built around them.

So maybe I'm okay with being a material, typical, minor-character kind of girl.

It could be worse.

I could be the Unique Main Character with no friends.

this world has taken its toll on me

If ever anyone were bad at emails, I would be. I'm just not very good at life updates, I guess, over email or over the phone. What should I say? What's important to know? I owe my parents a fairly lengthy phone call about my future.

My future.

I say it like I know what it's going to be like, but it's this entirely nebulous, uncertain thing in so many respects.

I feel like I'm not trying hard enough, and yet I'm so tired all of the time. It's actually rather distressing.

I used to be able to make compound sentences or something like that.

I'm not unhappy, just somewhat concerned and a little stressed, and mostly tired. Is this normal? Was I ever normal?

Not emo. Too tired to be emo. Big Bang's new MV and album is happy-making though. I will go to sleep early and have energy to care about things once again, damn it.

I wish I were better than mediocre at something.

conversations.

Wednesday.

Mei: I hate bumperstickers.
L: Me too! They're like...tattoos on your ass. If you were walking around naked. And no one wants to walk around naked, do they?
R: Well, I don't know if anyone would get "OBAMA" tattooed to their ass...
L: I don't know. Maybe some people feel really strongly about this stuff.
R: Well, I feel strongly. Maybe I should get Obama's face tattooed to my inner thigh.
Mei: ...that would be beyond awkward.
L: Well, not many people would see it.
R: Right? Except the people who saw it would be in the situation where it's like, "oh, um, I'm really not in the mood anymore..." Probably because they had a tattoo of McCain on their inner thigh.
L: You could make them make out!
Mei: *dying* What the fuck. Why am I friends with you guys?

C: K should just...sing all the time.

breathe it in and let it out

my life is so much nicer when i don't go online. my life is so much nicer when i don't care about fandom. :) law school people always make me smile and make me feel welcome. they make me laugh. they also make me want a boyfriend. everyone's attached - married or engaged or in a serious relationship. it's strange being single; we're definitely in the minority if we are. i want someone.

i think i'm happy. i think i am.

sometimes it's better not to think at all. just feel and live and breathe.

and sleep.

make something of your world. take it as it is. sometimes the choice isn't in your hands, and it's okay.
